Tiny treasure is back!!!!
I think we can all agree that small ceramic items are adorable and it’s really fun to make little pieces.
This workshop will run for 2 separate dates - April 12th to create and April 26th to glaze your items
April 12th / 11am - 2pm at EQ3 Polo Park
You will be provided porcelain clay and tools to create up to 10 small items like brooches ( or accessories like bolo ties or earrings ), catchalls , tiny figurines, magnets, ornaments etc
If you have a template or cookie cutter you want to use please bring it
April 26th / 11am - 2pm at EQ3 Polo Park
You will be provided the supplies to glaze your pieces - I bring a healthy selection of choices
If you are planning on adding fine details with a detailing brush please bring it - my brushes are community workshop brushes and I can’t guarantee it will be to your needs
A few extra details …
Shorter nails and working clothes are better for workshops
I will not be offering any lustre firing for your pieces ( gold, silver + mother of pearls )
The focus of this workshop is to make small objects - please do not make larger pieces bigger then the palm of one’s hand or anything with complicated handles or appendages - as it makes transporting your objects to my kiln very stressful.
if you are making pieces like jewelry I will provide u pins and simple finishings like the bolo backing and bar or round pins for brooches - I will not be providing cords, jewelry hardware or magnets
Your pieces will be fired in my personal kiln - after the second class you will receive an email when your pieces are ready for pickup from my home studio
I have had good success with student work but sometimes not every piece is meant to be - from time to time a piece or two will crack, break or not meet your expectations and that is the nature of clay - this is why I allow up to 10 pieces per attendee :)
Please make sure you can attend both classes - if you cannot attend the second class ( glazing ) I will offer a future class but cannot know exactly when that will be
This class is for adults - no experience is necessary …. come to have fun and let your imagination flow
